Andrew Stroud, a Canadian born New Zealand based Cinematographer who is engaged in narrative, commercial and documentary projects.

In early 2023, Andrew completed photography on the Netflix show Sweet Tooth, Season 3, Episodes 3 & 4 in Auckland, New Zealand.

In 2013 he shot the music video “Royals” for the artist “Lorde”. The video, Directed by Joel Kefali, gained over 55 million hits on you tube and won a VMA at the 2014 MTV awards. Reprising this collaboration again in 2020 Andrew shot a series of 5 Music video’s for “Lorde’s" Album “Solar Power”, all set on the same remote island beach. “Solar Power” was nominated for Best Cinematography again at the 2022 VMA MTV Awards.

Short film credits include “Ellen is Leaving" (dir. Michelle Savill), which has won at SXSW and San Francisco film festivals and 43,000 ft “ (dir. Campbell Hooper), which screened at Tribeca and Chicago. Other credits include “Echoes” (wir/dir. Special Problems), which was screened at the 2013 Cannes film festival.

2016 saw Andrew in production with Toa Fraser’s feature length Documentary “The Freeman” and the feature film “The Changeover (dir. Stuart McKenzie and Miranda Harcourt) starring Timothy Spall.

In 2020 Andrew teamed up again with Michelle Savill and Desray Armstrong to shoot Michelle’s debut feature film Millie Lies Low “ After being interrupted by Covid -19 restrictions principle photography was successfully completed later in 2020. “Millie Lies Low” is now in competition in the Berlin Film Festival and SXSW .
